(Abstract)
This network is an extension of a temporary seismic network that was set up in 2024 (http://doi.org/10.14470/4V507911) as part of the preparations for the construction of a ‘Low Seismic Lab’ (as part of the German Centre for Astrophysics, DZA) and possibly the Einstein Telescope. 156 continuously operating digital seismic stations, equipped with short-period geophones (146 stations) and broadband sensors (10 stations), were set up for a period of about five weeks in an area of approximately 14 x 12 km in Lusatia (Saxony, Germany). The main objectives were 1) to create a 3D model of the subsurface (shear wave velocity; ambient noise tomography) using the seismic ambient noise field and 2) to investigate the spatio-temporal distribution of seismic noise (and noise sources). Waveform data is available from the GEOFON data centre, under network code 4V.
