Data from 20 affiliated GEOFON stations in Indonesia, operated by the Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), have been unavailable since ca. 04:55 (UTC) on 2026-08-28 on our real-time (seedlink) and archive (fdsnws-dataselect) services. We are working on a solution, but cannot yet estimate when the data will be available again. We will update here when data flow is established again.
Greetings from Quebec… Any developments on when or if Indonesia datas/stations are going to be back ? … Cheers
We are dependent on BMKG’s data policy for real-time access to GEOFON-BMKG cooperated stations in Indonesia. It will still take time to negotiate the possibility of restoring access via GEOFON. Please contact BMKG directly if you need to urgently arrange high priority access from their seedlink services - a dedicated bilateral agreement may be required, as data is currently restricted.
After discussions with BMKG, GEOFON has regained real-time access within GFZ to streams for the GEOFON-BMKG cooperated stations in Indonesia. We are now able to use these in the earthquake locations we provide again. However we are unable to redistribute these waveforms to others.
We regret the inconvenience, and loss of reproducibility, that the seismic community experiences as a result of these decisions. As before, if you require access to real time data from these stations, please contact BMKG and make your need known to them.
We still hope to be able to redistribute these again in future, but we have no planned date for this yet, nor do we know whether we will be allowed to do so.
